The Library of Congress LGBTQI Group - LC-GLOBE - has invited four GCLS authors to do an Author Reading at the Library of Congress on Wednesday, July 6th.  Jewelle Gomez, Melissa Brayden, Ann McMan and Marie Castle will be representing our GCLS authors at this event.

LC-GLOBE has also offered to take up to 20 people on a special tour of the Library of Congress prior to the event.  The tour will begin at 9:30 am, and the Author Spotlight will be from 11:00 am - Noon.  Those attending should have no difficulty making it back to the hotel in time for the 1:00 pm Conference opening.

There is room for 20 people on the tour, and unlimited seating for the author reading.

Carleen and Mary Phillips will be escorting people from the hotel lobby to the Library of Congress, so that you don't get lost. You are responsible for your own costs to get you to and from the tour and event.  The tour is free, as is the Author Spotlight.

If you have a disability and it is difficult for you to take the Metro, please let Carleen (carleen.spry@goldencrown.org) or Mary P (mary.phillips@goldencrown.org) know before the event as we have at least one car going to Library of Congress for this purpose.

REGISTER HERE FOR THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS TOUR ONLY. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO REGISTER FOR THE AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT.
