GOLDEN CROWN LITERARY SOCIETY
2017 AWARDS GUIDELINES
The Golden Crown Literary Society (GCLS) Awards Administrators have issued the awards guidelines for the 2017 GCLS Literary Awards (also known as The Goldies). These guidelines provide information on eligibility of books for submission, the process for nominating a book for consideration by the judges, information on the judging process, the 2016 timeline, and descriptions of awards categories.
Please read ALL of these guidelines carefully prior to submitting nomination(s).
Should a question arise that is not addressed in these guidelines, the GCLS Awards Administrators are appointed by the Board as the only people able to make a final ruling on an issue that arises during the awards process. Any such rulings made after the nomination period opens will become addendums to these guidelines and be published as such on the GCLS web site.
The online book nomination process opens on September 1, 2016 and will take a tiered submission approach. See the Nomination Deadlines page for all nomination, submission and payment deadlines:
A full listing of all nominations will be posted to the GCLS web site by the first week of February, 2017.
A “short list” of up to eight finalists per category will be announced no later than the first week in May 2017.
Winners will be announced and their awards presented at the Golden Crown Literary Society Twelfth Annual Awards Ceremony on July 8, 2017, in Chicago, IL. The list of winners will be available on the website, within 24 hours.
