GCLS believes the inclusion of people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, cultures, ethnicities, sexual orientation, gender identities, and mental and physical abilities creates an environment where ideas, creativity, collaboration, mutual respect, and understanding can flourish. We welcome you!
Plain and Simple.
Believing that, and stating that as a value within our organizations, our communities, our country, doesn’t diminish anyone.
We abhor the violence perpetuated on black people. It is systemic, and it is wrong. We stand with those individuals and organizations who passionately protest against the ongoing racism in our country which allows such violence.
The Golden Crown Literary Society’s philosophy on diversity and inclusion is fundamental: we include everyone, celebrate our differences, and understand we are at our best when we draw from the unique strengths, abilities, and experiences of our diverse community.
We are committed to a culture which fosters acceptance, extends respect to each person, and works to maximize each member's potential. We encourage and support initiatives which facilitate understanding and cultivate an atmosphere of kindness.
We’d like to get your feedback on the 2020 Virtual Con, GCLS’s general activities, and the important work we have to do to better serve our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color writing and reading community.
This year we are also asking a few, optional, demographic questions. These questions provide GCLS with better knowledge of our members, followers, and allies that helps us refine existing activities and services, and create new ones that will be more relevant to those who participate in our programs and events.
Please take a few minutes to reply to the following survey. We will give your feedback careful consideration.
