GCLS Announces 2020 Keynote Speakers!
We are happy to announce that we are fortunate to have two keynote speakers for our 16th Annual Conference in Albuquerque, NM. For the first time ever, we will have an Opening and a Closing Keynote speaker. These two speakers are experts in their respective fields and we can't wait to welcome them to the podium.
Opening Keynote Speaker - Radclyffe
Radclyffe has written over sixty romance, romantic intrigue, and, as L.L. Raand, paranormal romances. In addition to dozens of short stories, she has edited fifteen romance and erotica anthologies.
She is an eight-time finalist and three-time Lambda Literary Award winner and received the Dr. James Duggins Outstanding Mid-Career Novelist award by the Lambda Literary Foundation. A member of the Saints and Sinners Literary Hall of Fame, she is also a fifteen-time Goldie winner and an RWA Prism, Lories, Aspen Gold, Bean Pot, Laurel Wreath, and two-time LA Book Buyers Best award winner. She is a featured author in the documentary film Love Between the Covers, from Blueberry Hill Productions, and was recognized as a Trailblazer of Romance by the Romance Writers of America in 2019.
In 2004 she founded Bold Strokes Books, one of the world’s largest independent LGBTQ publishing companies, and is the current president and publisher.
Nicole Conn has been a die-hard romantic and black and white film fan from the age of nine.
Closing Keynote Speaker -Nicole Conn
Nicole Conn has achieved worldwide industry recognition with her films Claire of the Moon, Elena Undone, A Perfect Ending, and Little Man. Winner of many film awards, she was was a finalist in the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science's Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. She believes in giving back to the community and sponsored the Claire of the Moon Scholarship in 1998, awarding second-time novelists through the ASTRAEA Foundation.
Well known for her speed, quality, and prolific ability to write in many genres, Conn has written five novels, a parent’s guide, two teleplays, eleven screenplays, and has produced five soundtracks.
She currently finished her seventh film, More Beautiful for Having Been Broken. Another strong message film about special needs based on her personal experiences with her son, Nicholas, who is very special needs and remains medically fragile. Her daughter, Gabrielle, makes her film debut in what Nicole describes as a “heartbreakingly beautiful love story.” Conn is also finalizing her epic tome, Descending Thirds, which is in development for the big screen.
