From the Executive Director's Desk

Mary PhillipsHappy March!

We are one month away from the launch of our new website, and I, as well as the rest of the GCLS Board, are excited to share it with you. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to create a user-friendly, robust site to keep our GCLS community well-informed, connected, and inspired while showcasing our appreciation for lesbian-themed literature. Keep a lookout in April!

Wishing you a happy and healthy month.

Writing Academy Spotlight

Beth BurnettAs the Director of Education and Director of The GCLS Writing Academy, I enjoy sharing the accomplishments of our students and alumni. I wanted to share our blog, which features our esteemed author graduates. This space also showcases new and upcoming releases and literary news about our graduates. If you are a graduate, professor, mentor, or guest instructor of the academy and you would like to be featured on our blog, please reach out! In the meantime, check out our blog and our playlist of alumni profiles on our YouTube channel.

Member Spotlight

We want to introduce you to one of our Con Virgins, CJ Murphy! In case you didn't know, a Con Virgin is someone attending the GCLS Annual Conference for the first time. CJ answered this question we posed in the Con Virgin Facebook group: “What are you most excited about for the GCLS Annual Conference?”

“For me, it’s being in a place where others will understand the passion and drive to tell a story about characters that refuse to be silent. I'm excited to meet authors that I've admired for their talent, and to thank them in person for their encouragement when I took the leap. It's a chance to meet readers who have reached out to me with appreciation for the stories I've written as well. I hope to come away with recharged batteries from the energy of being surrounded by something I love, and to introduce my quiet wife to the madness. :) She may never be the same. Lol, I know I won't.”
